Playroom Rules

Draft for review — this page is being finalized with our attorney.

The playroom works because everyone plays by the same few rules. Here they are — short, honest, and written for grown-ups holding a coffee in one hand.

Supervision — the big one

  • Parents and caregivers stay on site. The playroom is not a drop-off or childcare service. A parent or responsible caregiver stays in the shop for the entire visit and remains responsible for supervising their children at all times.
  • Our staff keep the room, not the kids. We tidy, restock, sanitize, and keep an eye on the space throughout the day — but we don’t supervise individual children. That’s yours, and you’re better at it anyway.

Check-in, every visit

  • Every child checks in at the counter before entering the playroom, and checks out with us on the way out. We record each child’s first name and the guardian’s name and phone number — that roster is how we always know exactly who’s in the room. (How we handle that information is in our privacy policy.)
  • The playroom is for kids ages 0–10, and a session is 2 hours of play.
  • The room has a capacity limit. When it’s full, it’s full — we’ll ask you to check back in a bit rather than pack the room past what’s safe. The live count is always on our playroom page.

Health & safety basics

  • Under the weather? Next week instead. If your child has a fever, a fresh cough, or anything catching, please keep them home until they’re well — every parent in the room thanks you.
  • Play at your child’s speed. Equipment is used as intended, big kids mind the little ones, and anything rough enough to worry another parent is rough enough to take a break from.
  • Tell us if something breaks or spills. We’ll fix it fast — a broken toy or a wet floor is our problem to solve, but only if we know about it.
  • Footwear in the playroom.Policy being finalizedWe’re finalizing our socks-and-shoes policy and will post it here and in the shop as soon as it’s set.

Assumption of risk

DRAFT — pending attorney review

The language below is a working draft and is not final until our attorney has reviewed it.

Active play carries ordinary risks — bumps, tumbles, and the occasional collision between two kids headed for the same block. By checking a child into the playroom, the parent or guardian acknowledges these ordinary risks of play, confirms that the child is able to participate safely, and accepts responsibility for supervising the child throughout the visit as described on this page.

Nothing on this page limits any rights you may have under Colorado law, and nothing here excuses us from keeping the space clean, maintained, and safe — that part is always our job.
